Decon's commentary:

Xmas 2017 was a very strong mini album overall, a fact that made picking two of it's six tracks each even harder then it would've been by default. With that said, I personally think this is the album's strongest showing; it goes big, it goes hard, it takes no fucking prisoners on it's mission to shake the soundsystem, and I went ham on the bass sections (particularly that second one) to make it as much of a stompy hard juke cut as possible. It's also once of the songs that loses out the least from the album's self imposed challenge; despite being constructed in program, the two “breakbeat” “samples” don't sound too cheap or 'fake', and the strength of the sample editing going around them carries the piece significantly. I'm also really proud of that bodged “low pass” filter effect I did with the chords at 3:24; even though the method utilised is not at all how that effect actually works (had sets of riffs of the chords descending octaves all the way down, and adjusted the volume to pitch up where needed and down where needed to make it sound like they faded into each other), it sounds just convincing enough to pass (har har) for what I was going for.
