“hey decon if you dislike House of the Dead Overkill so much why do you keep sampling voice clips from it” yeah why do I keep doing that anyway. Huh.
The difference in quality, compositionally and in terms of arrangement, between this and the original take of the track is legitimately staggering. Even accounting for difference in style, the growth in my skill set and approach to adding depth and variation to a song grew a lot in a five year span. Speaking of that change from... I guess funky house(?) to twitch house/bass house, I feel it kinda serves the vibe of the track a hell of a lot better. I recall that original version, and the image it imparted, going down quite well on the TIMGUL forums quite well, but I like the ever-so-slightly grittier edge this version has. Maybe that's just my inclination to think a later take on the same ideas is better by default, I dunno. What I can say for certain is that I really like the entirely-new-for-this-remix bouncy bassline during the “main” sections of the track; it's fun! It's goofy! Exactly what a growing sprog needs.
