about

Dio's commentary:

It would be my speed to have a Battlemania track back on here, so here we are. Is it cheating to essentially have "Heaven Shatters" twice on the album? Not as much as it was to have altogether so much PQ in my choice list. XD
But as to why I chose it comes down to the tried and now true method of my insane requests to hear "just one more take" on an older song I like, and Decon complying with my wishes (and I wish he wouldn't so often; he spoils me needlessly). I love "Heaven Shatters", and with his skill now, the song would be even more phenomenal. And you know what? I was right. The lengthening of the series theme from an attract mode to a full fledged song really made it blossom into something more epic and attention grabbing.
I don't recall how I got him to make it, but I'm glad I did. Hearing this theme after so many years under his belt feels like a homecoming, and indeed, the Battlemania project does have that sense of homecoming, especially in the following year where we put out Battlemania 2: King of Blues. It's a project that I love dearly despite the intense workload it puts on both of us. Its possible I may have it remixed a 3rd time for when the inevitable BM3 begins development in earnest.
