Decon's commentary:

I believe I mentioned this elsewhere at some point, but the vocal clip that opens this song was originally “written” for another song entirely; specifically, a potential Mk. IV Escort track that I don't think got very far off the ground (or might not even have been started in any meaningful capacity). Dunno what made me reuse it here, but obviously I tweaked some (but not all) of it to apply to the different genre. In retrospect I'm not sure it works, but the rest of the track is strong enough that I'm not losing sleep over it. Before this, most of my straight up acid productions were structured closer to the genres earlier stylings in the mid-to-late 80s/early 90s; here, I pulled more from the genre's harder, faster, “Y2K”-ier evolution that began to really take off in the mid 90s, and was the defining sound of acid (and acid adjacent) music come the late 90s/early 2000s- a fact helped along by the inclusion of Pump Panel's remix of the New Order track Confusion in one of Blade's most iconic scenes, I'd wager. Weirdly, I feel one of the strongest aspects of this one is its beat; a good beat is the foundation of any dance track, no question, but I find the fusion of elements here- particularly how well the sampled breakbeat fused with the kicks and claps- especially pleasing to the ear.
