As if the trodden path wasn’t hard enough on its own, Pied has made things even more difficult for the Brave Herts by selecting some of the hardest end of level guardians in Saint J92000‘s database to guard the end of each stage; Empire General, a hulking half-tank robot armed with cutting edge weaponry; Dark Rhys, a bloodthirsty Doublet mimicking the form of someone very special to JP; Nightmare Umbrella, an enormous, ancient octopus with a chip on it’s shoulder for humanity in general; The Book Of Counted Nightmares, an impossibly old and very evil tome with a mind (and body) of its own; Sonatina, a ruthless high ranking member of the Music Corps., lacking in empathy but determined to almost a fault; Geirrod, a conniving Frost Giant that always gets what he wants, come Hel or high water; and Master Dread, an undead magician who lost his life in an attempt to rob those of the citizens of London. All apparently reprogrammed to serve his demented will, they will stop at absolutely nothing to stop our heroes dead.
