Track 14: Overdrive Fever (Boss Battle) [from "Freezing Dwarf"]
Artist: Takayuki Mitsuyoshi
Originally Composed: 2012

I'm gonna come out and say it; the biggest disappointment of this song for me is the sloppy execution of the drum patterns throughout most of the song, but especially during the portions with the pipe organ version of the arpeggio. Actually, that arpeggio pattern itself is a little bit wonky, so that's also kind of disappointing. And I really didn't do a good job setting up the loop point. ... Alright, so I have a few points of contention with this song, but ultimately I can't bring myself to hate it; it was supposed to sound like an early-mid 90s redbook audio track, and for better or worst that concept really shines through in a couple of places- the main melody of the song definitely sounds very video gamey, and some of the synth sounds are perfect fits for the era I was aiming to emulate. So, pretty standard fare overall for one of my older pieces- there's good stuff, and there's bad stuff, and how much one outweighs the other is down to each persons own mileage for my work. This is definitely one for the "need to remake somewhere down the line" pile.
