Track 6: Nightmare Beatthing [True Final Boss Battle] [From "Nightmare Busters Prototype Tracks"]
Artist: Gonkaka
Originally Composed: 2013

The original Nightmare Busters project was actually a full albums worth of material composed and produced entirely using the iYM2151 app; for a while, it was readily available on the 103:R Bandcamp, first as a purchasable item, then as a free download, and was originally going to have roughly the same concept and scope as Battlemania did. Unfortunately due to real life stuff at the time, the album was released in a much more scaled back way then I'd originally wanted, and ultimately I felt that the material really wasn't as fit for release in the state that it was, as a lot of it was very, very rough around the edges; it really sounded like an album done by someone who didn't know the software he was using very well. This song, however, was something of an exception; though it's hardly perfect, I was a lot more aware of the 8 Channel limit and how to utilise it, the idea for the song was a lot more clear and driven then some of the previous ones (in part due to being a remix of one of the other songs, and being deliberately written for its "in game" purpose), and simply because I feel the arrangement and the composition both feel fluid, and work with the intense chiptune-meets-speedcore thing I was going for. I still dunno how I pulled stuff off like those two rising and falling scales or the insane stuff going on in that solo at the end.
