Track 19: I_AM.NUXX [Two Thousand and Eleven Seconds to Doomsday Mix] (True Final Boss: Pied.NUXX) [from "Battlemania Early Works"]
Artist: Denji Koshiro
Originally Composed: 2011

Believe it or not, the ideas and concepts of the Battlemania project actually stretch back to mid 2011, where me, Dio, and another friend of mine named Ben tossed around a few ideas, put forth character suggestions, all that sort of thing. At the time I probably had plans for it to be an actual game of some sort instead of an album project (as was my dream-big-fuck-logistics nature at the time), and again I only wound up actually doing one song for the project. Needless to say it turned out to be a pretty important one, however, as it not only served as the basis for a song on the 2014 Christmas album (103records.Bandcamp.com/track/920-seconds-to-doomsday-final-boss), but it fostered concepts such as a version of Pied as a computer program that goes haywire serving as the central antagonist and final boss, and kept early incarnations of what would later become the fluff text for the aforementioned album at the back of my mind. Unlike Devils Nearest Neighbors, the remake is definitely the better version of the song, with far stronger instruments and a clearer divide between the orchestral and electronic elements (which was kind of the intention), but this version of the song is still pretty decent, with some alright custom breakbeats, some decent chords, and a lot of energy to spare. I mean, it is really, REALLY obviously inspired by Deep Core (Allegro) (www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpdx_X3sWQo), the final boss song from Sonic Rush Adventure, but still, not a bad effort.
