I had the crux of the beat and those filtered, low octave guitar chords laying around for absolute ages with no idea what I was going to actually use them for; after having them sit around for years, I put this sort of continue-screen theme together for a second Nightmare Busters project that I started not long after the initial chiptune album, and abandoned fairly quickly. The later tweak in 2014 was mostly just fleshing out the very end bit so it didn’t sound as flat with some chords and additional effects. Overall, the song is pretty flat; the guitar chords are weak, the dream beat is pretty weak, and it is probably the most b-side sounding thing on this entire album, but I do quite like the bassline- both the sample and the notes- and I think the gradual tempo speedup actually came out sounding really well, giving a sense of increased urgency that would’ve carried a lot better if the rest of the song sounded as strong.
