This was another very early Decon Theed track, done just before the alias evolved closer to the Beaucoup Fish inspired sound it’s known for today, and might well be the very second song I ever did under the name, which makes it a pretty important song in that regard. It’s also an important song in that it was the first piece of music ever written for E.Q. at all, and was supposed to serve as something of a theme song for the series- as well as actually appearing in the series itself in the episode Free Man (humanscandrivestick.tumblr.com/post/69188223002/e-q-free-man), with the preceding arc of the same name setting up the performance. Like many of the songs here, I feel I could’ve done certain things better, such as (surprise surprise) doing a better job making some of the synths sound less flat, but the sheer punchiness of the beat, the general ambience of the chord progression and the melodies themselves regardless of the samples they’re played on, and even the arrangement and construction of the song are still quite strong, I think, and the song still carries a very tight danceable vibe that brings to mind images of a city at night- because of course it would.
